Approx. 66 cm (w) x 45 cm (h), oil paints on linen canvas.

To do this painting, I was sitting at the northern end of a road bridge that crosses the Torrens River, near where it flows into the sea. It was a spectacular scene, with lovely colours and light.

I was happy with the painting to this stage, but didn’t know how it should be developed from here. When I look back at it now, I wish I had just continued to work on it for a few more days of working time, and managed to refine some sections of it, such as the sky, the sea, and the right hand section of the small sand hills.

I no longer have this painting, and the only record I have of it are these photographs. The original overview photo was unfortunately taken a little out of focus, and so couldn’t be enlarged very much.
