This was taken from a window seat of an aircraft while it was going in to land at Adelaide Airport. I was on my way home, after a trip to Sydney. I found this view of the Adelaide CBD from the air to be fascinating. It shows part of the North Adelaide Golf Links, the new Royal Adelaide Hospital, Adelaide Oval, the Memorial Drive tennis complex, the Adelaide Festival Centre, the Convention Centre, The Westpac building, the Torrens Weir No. 1, Old Adelaide Gaol, Adelaide railway lines, etc.

These cliffs, that stand above a wave-cut platform, are made of buckled, layered rocks that geologists have found to have formed around 600 million years ago. The Hallett Cove Conservation Park is a fascinating and inspiring place to visit and walk around in. It contains many ancient geological structures, and yet every surface is part of the immediate moment.

I converted the original full colour photograph to a 'black and white' photograph (as if it was taken using black and white film and using an orange filter). This process felt appropriate for the subject matter.
